Is a mileage blocker legal on a luxury car?

Yes. In the UK it is legal to own and fit a mileage blocker. It is designed for track days, off-road and private-land use, tuning and dyno testing. It must never be used to misrepresent a car’s true mileage, for example when you sell it, or on a lease or finance agreement.

Why do collectors and estate owners use one?

Cars in a private collection or on an estate are often moved around private land, prepared for shows and concours on private grounds, and run on the dyno. A blocker pauses mileage recording while it’s switched on, so those private-land miles aren’t added to the odometer. Keep a log and switch it off before driving on the road.

Will it affect the car’s systems or warranty?

The blocker only affects how distance is recorded; it is plug-and-play and unplugs again with no permanent change. Fitting one doesn’t automatically void a UK warranty, but check your warranty terms first.
